I started this blog January 19 1910. While my intentions were good my body, body and spirit were too exausted to meet the challenge.
I am in a better place now and cannot think of a day more auspicious than today, 11/11/11, for a new beginning.
Before anything else I want to honour my Grandfather, Maurice Esten, my father Roy Charles Kirkpatrick and brother Rodney Allen Kirkpatrick. Baba served in the calvary WW1, Dad served as a paratrooper in 101st Division the Screaming Eagles, as did my brother Rod in Viet Nam.
They are all gone now, I regret that when they were alive I did not thank them for there service and sacrifice. They did not like to talk about there time serving, Baba in the trenches in France, Dad in Italy and North Africa and of course Rod in Viet Nam.
Each Remembrance Day I now take time to thank them and cry for there sacrifice and my freedom.
Thank-you, to all who have served and died and those who have served and carry those memories.
